Pick whatever you like at Café Sandø — Tucked away in Christianshavn, this family-run café turns seasonal ingredients into deeply comforting plates
Winter is just another reason to eat well and stay longer at Café Sandø. Since 2021, Trine and August Sandø have let the seasons call the shots at their charming café on Wilders Plads, turning local ingredients into wholesome plates made by someone who cares.
Coffee brews, matcha is whisked to order, and the kitchen leans into what’s good on a cold day. ’Nduja butter brings heat to scrambled eggs and sautéed kale. Banana bread and brownies perfume the room. Turkish-style eggs arrive with roasted tomatoes, chili butter, za’atar, and pickles. Yogurt-granola bowls get lifted by poached pear, plum compote, and a gloss of olive oil, while beet-cured salmon comes finished with dukkah and pickles on sesame rye.
Always in season and from the heart.
