4-course menu at Belanja — The Malaysian kitchen Copenhagen has been waiting for finally lands on Gammel Kongevej
Belanja was inevitable for chef KC Chan. Long before his run of sold-out pop-ups around Copenhagen, he cooked from memory—Kuala Lumpur street stalls, family kitchens, and the fire and funk that define Malaysian food. Now, that nostalgia has found a permanent home on Gammel Kongevej.
The menu isn’t bound by tradition or borders. Golden brioche nods to fried Chinese mantou, served with coconut butter and curry. Rendang takes a plant-based turn with curried lion’s mane. Laksa lands as it should, with handmade rice noodles in rich coconut-curry broth. Sticky rice is grilled in banana leaves and finished with house sambal. For dessert, white chocolate-pandan mousse is served with smoked tea tapioca pearls and caramel.
This is what Copenhagen has been waiting for.
