Each location is a mix between a wine bar and a bottle shop, so you can get the best of both worlds. With over 55 producers represented on the shelves, their sommeliers are ready to open your eyes and tastebuds to wines you’ve never tasted before. Everything is low-intervention and imported directly from small producers, and the food menu is created in collaboration with their friends at the local favorite Rufino Osteria. Plus, Berlingske recently named Roots one of the top places in Copenhagen to eat and drink without breaking the bank.

The shelves are brimming with possibilities and their friendly, knowledgeable staff is happy to guide you. Go for a fresh, mineral white like La Pretension from Andalusian winemaker Raul Moreno, or a fruity, floral white like Versante Est from Eduardo Torres in Etna, Sicily. Try orange wines such as Bodega Forlong’s Amigo Imaginario aged in Sherry casks, Costadila’s sparkling O-X, or Czech producer Petr Marada’s Sauvignon. Taste a spicy, vibrant red like Barbera d’Asti from Garesio, or sip on Renaissance 2018, a red from Domaine Viret in Côtes du Rhône with notes of cherries and herbes de Provence. When it comes to food, try baccalà mantecato with fried polenta or Sicilian croquettes with mortadella and ‘nduja mayo. Savor a pork cheek sando with truffle and comté, scallops with caper emulsion, and more. Don’t forget to treat yourself to tiramisu.
