Missing his beloved British classic, English-born chef Matthew Jeffrey joined forces with Kasper Bundgård Christensen to bring the street food staple to Copenhagen. Celebrated locally and internationally for their unmatched combo of quality and flavor, their creative twists on traditional seafood dishes quickly took the city by storm. With seven locations around the city, the Klosterstræde spot captures everything we love from the cherished seafood restaurant: the perfect fish and chips that’s been a bestseller from the beginning – served in modernized fishmonger-inspired settings.
WHAT YOU GET
Enjoy fish and chips + any drink at Hooked in City Center. Grab a table or take your order to go. Taste panko-crusted pollock served with housemade tartar sauce and fresh lime. The fish is marinated in yogurt to keep it super juicy and spiced with a signature blend of curry, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika. Devour a side of double-fried, thick-cut fries seasoned with salt and vinegar powder, or choose a fresh mixed greens salad with edamame and goma dressing. It all started in 2016 with a navy blue food truck. Founding duo Kasper Bundgård Christensen and Matthew Jeffrey dreamt of bringing their take on the British mainstay to Denmark and one day opening a casual seafood restaurant of their own. In the summer of 2017, Kasper’s brother, Lasse Bundgård Christensen, joined the team, and Hooked opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Nørrebro. Since then, they have become a fast-casual seafood powerhouse. Across their seven locations, they keep Copenhageners well-fed with their signature fried pollack, double-fried and vinegar-seasoned fries, and new takes on classic seafood dishes.
